ROTZINGER PharmaPack GmbH needed a gripping system for a multi-carrier system for handling individual cookie packs that would meet the requirements of the linear drives. In order to optimize the production process and overcome the usual cabling challenges, the company opted for a wireless gripping system from the Zimmer Group. This system consists of 32 GEP2000 series grippers and enables real-time wireless communication between the gripper and the PLC controller using IO-Link wireless technology. The use of the GEP2010 grippers proved to be extremely successful in the plant due to their IO-Link capability, compact design and longevity of up to 10 million maintenance-free cycles.
